Cialis is the branded medicine containing tadalafil. This page is for the 10mg and 20mg strengths used before anticipated sexual activity.

Description

Cialis is the branded medicine containing tadalafil. This page is for the 10mg and 20mg strengths used before anticipated sexual activity.

How does Cialis work?

During sexual stimulation, tadalafil helps blood vessels in the penis relax and increases blood flow. Cialis does not increase sexual desire or cause an automatic erection.

How to take on-demand Cialis

Take Cialis exactly as prescribed and swallow the tablet whole with water.

  • Take it at least 30 minutes before anticipated sexual activity.
  • Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours.
  • It can be taken with or without food.
  • Avoid grapefruit juice and excessive alcohol.
  • Do not combine it with Cialis Daily, generic tadalafil or another erectile dysfunction treatment unless instructed.

What does the 36-hour window mean?

The medicine may make it easier to get an erection when sexually stimulated during a period of up to 36 hours. It does not produce a continuous erection.

Cialis and generic tadalafil

Both contain tadalafil. Cialis is the branded formulation; generic tadalafil may have a different manufacturer, appearance and inactive ingredients.

Storage and disposal

Keep Cialis in its original packaging and follow the supplied leaflet. Keep it away from children and return unwanted medicine to a pharmacy.
